Biography
Sherija ma’am has 32 years of experience as a teacher and 10 of those years were as head mistress. From 2013 to date she has been working as a shadow teacher for a special needs child. She says her experience over the years has moulded her in many different ways but even now she’s learning a lot. Sherija says that it makes her happy and brings satisfaction as she uses techniques to help her student learn how to live in society as well as study her subjects. Sherija’s hobbies include music, gardening and reading.
Experiences with CGIA
“I feel that CGIA is making such a positive change in me and the child with whom I work. I’m not forced or given commands here, but I learn to do things by seeing the example of others. That means all staff and students are not just saying that they are doing things but they make sure that it’s done and I’m encouraged that way. All the kids at CGIA are so open-minded and patient to include someone who is less fortunate or physically challenged. The dear student I am assigned to has improved so much in her reading and writing in the past year. It is because of the positive and encouraging culture in CGIA. I’m very happy and satisfied to be a part of this school where students are treated as individuals and given respect.”
