CGIA Annual Day – From Practice to Performance

At Common Grounds International Academy, our Annual Day is not just an event; it is a celebration of learning, creativity, inclusion, and the joyful spirit of every child. At CGIA, we see education as something far deeper than academics or performances. It is also shaped by lived experiences, empathy, and the courage to show up as our whole selves.

Weeks before the celebration, our team began thoughtful theme planning and creative brainstorming. Each performance was carefully chosen to suit the age, comfort, and abilities of our Primary and KG students, ensuring that every child had a meaningful role to play.

As an inclusive school, it was especially heartening to see our Special Education students participate with confidence, celebrating their talents alongside their peers. Slowly, our classrooms transformed into vibrant rehearsal spaces filled with music, movement, laughter, and excitement. Every day, children practiced with dedication, building not only coordination and expressions, but also confidence and stage presence; life skills that go far beyond the stage.

Our teachers worked with great patience and care, gently guiding students through entries, exits formations, and transitions. Costumes were lovingly prepared, props were organised, and full-dress rehearsals brought a new wave of excitement across the school. Behind the scenes, the seamless teamwork between teachers, coordinators, and support staff ensured that every small detail was thoughtfully managed.

On the day of the celebration, the stage came alive with colour, energy, and emotion. Our children performed with confidence, creativity, and pure joy, making us immensely proud. The
warmth, encouragement, and enthusiastic support from parents added to the spirit of the day, making it truly special for every child.

For us at CGIA, Annual Day is more than a showcase of performances. It reflects our belief in holistic development, nurturing confidence, creativity, and teamwork in every child. Above all, it was a celebration where every child felt seen, valued, and proud to shine in their own unique way.
