A Day in the Life of a Child at CGIA

As the school gate opens each morning, a child comes with a backpack of books—and a heart full of possibilities. For some, it’s excitement; for others, a quiet mix of curiosity and nervousness. Each day in school begins not just with a bell, but with hope.

Morning Moments
The day starts with assembly, where children line up with their friends, sing the school prayer, and listen to thoughts that gently reminds them of values like kindness, honesty, and gratitude. These moments set the tone for the day, helping children feel connected to something bigger than themselves.
As they enter their classrooms, familiar faces greet them—teachers who notice new haircuts, missing smiles, or extra energy. A simple “Good morning” can make a child feel seen and safe.

Learning beyond Books
Lessons may begin, but learning is never limited to textbooks. A child learns how to raise a hand patiently, how to ask questions bravely, and how to accept mistakes as part of growth. Whether solving a math problem, reading a story aloud, or conducting a small science experiment, each activity builds confidence step by step. They also help special needs students with lots of empathy, love, and care.
Group work teaches sharing and listening. Classroom discussions teach respect for differing ideas. Even a wrong answer becomes a powerful teacher.

Recess: Where Joy Lives
The most awaited part of the day—recess. The playground echoes with laughter, running feet, and carefree conversations. Friendships are strengthened over games, snacks are shared, and small disagreements are resolved. In these moments, children learn teamwork, empathy, and resilience—lessons no textbook can fully teach.

Afternoon Reflections
As the day moves on, art, music, or physical education gives children a chance to express themselves freely. Guided reading, STEM class, art, and drawing become a window into a child’s inner world. Before the final bell rings, there’s a sense of accomplishment. A chapter completed, a new concept understood, a kind act remembered. Tired eyes but happy hearts.

Heading Home
When a child walks out of school, they carry more than homework. They take home stories, lessons, friendships, and dreams. Each school day quietly shapes who they are becoming.
For us teachers, a “day in the life of a child” is a reminder: every moment matters. Every word we speak, every smile we offer, and every chance we give can make school a place where children feel loved, valued, and inspired to learn.
